The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor on Wednesday(20 December) met with the Council of State to brief them on Ghana’s Lithium deal with Australia-based Atlantic Lithium.
His session with the Council underscored Government’s commitment to fostering understanding and transparency regarding the crucial lithium agreement, dispelling misconceptions that had permeated public discourse.
Jinapor emphasized the vital role of engagement and clarification, ensuring the public comprehends the essence and potential of the agreement while addressing concerns raised in various quarters.
Furthermore, this move not only aimed at dissolving misunderstandings but also sought valuable input from the Council members to ensure the agreement’s effective execution.
The agreement’s significance was underscored by Jinapor, who reiterated Ghana’s unwavering commitment to transparent and accountable resource exploitation practices.
With a resolute belief in the benefits this agreement holds for Ghana, the Minister pledged to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure the optimal utilization and benefits derived from the nation’s lithium resources.
Meanwhile Parliament has approved the budget estimates for the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
