The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Gas Limited Company, Judith Adjobah Blay, has undertaken a strategic tour of manufacturing companies in the Western Region that rely on lean gas for their operations.
The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by Ghana Gas to strengthen engagement with key industrial off-takers and enhance service delivery across the country’s power and manufacturing sectors.
Ghana Gas plays a critical role in Ghana’s energy value chain by processing and supplying lean gas to support electricity generation and industrial production. The company’s operations remain central to sustaining industrial growth, particularly in key manufacturing enclaves.
Since assuming office a year ago, Ms. Blay has prioritised stakeholder engagement, focusing on understanding the operational needs of industries that depend on gas supply. Her engagements have spanned both the Tema and Sekondi-Takoradi industrial zones.
Following a similar familiarisation tour of off-taker companies in the Tema enclave earlier this year, the CEO has now extended the initiative to the Western Region.
On Tuesday, April 21, Ms. Blay led a delegation to interact directly with management of selected companies and observe their production processes. The tour provided first-hand insight into how critical gas supply is to industrial operations.
The delegation first visited Jintao Sanitary Ware Company Limited, where they observed the production of ceramic products, including wash-hand basins and toilet seats.
At Wangkang Ceramics, management emphasised the importance of reliable gas supply to their operations and appealed for a review of gas pricing to support production and remain competitive.
The team also toured Twyford Group, the largest ceramics manufacturing company in Ghana. The Managing Director, Mr. Li Wei, expressed appreciation to Ghana Gas for its consistent supply and support.
He also used the opportunity to request additional gas supply to support a new glass manufacturing line currently under construction, which is expected to commence full operations in August next year.
The tour underscores Ghana Gas’ commitment to building strong partnerships with industry players and ensuring that gas supply continues to meet the growing demands of the manufacturing sector.
It also highlights the increasing reliance of Ghana’s industrial base on stable and efficient energy supply, as companies seek to expand production and drive economic growth.
