Priscilla Ofori, popularly known as Odo Broni, has marked the 62nd birthday of late Ghanaian highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, with a cash donation to support children receiving treatment at the Child Health Department of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH).
The gesture, made in memory of the celebrated musician on what would have been his 62nd birthday, was initially intended to support children born on September 29, Daddy Lumba’s birthday.
However, during a visit to the department, the team encountered children who were critically ill and in urgent need of financial assistance.

The focus of the initiative was therefore extended to include children requiring immediate support, with cash assistance distributed in envelopes to selected patients at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the Child Health Daycare Oncology Unit.
Odo Broni said the total amount donated was approximately GHC63,000, with individual amounts varying according to the needs of the beneficiaries.
The donation was also extended to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where she visited children receiving critical care.

The donation was received on behalf of the Child Health Department by the Administrator, Mr Benjamin Nkansah, and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), Evelyn Kumah.
The Child Health Department expressed its appreciation to Odo Broni for the gesture and for choosing to commemorate Daddy Lumba’s birthday by supporting children and families going through difficult moments in their healthcare journey.
