Tax
The government has no plans to introduce new taxes in the 2024 Budget, technical adviser, at the office of the Vice President Dr Tiah Abdul-Kabiru Mahama has said.
The announcement comes ahead of the presentation of the 2024 Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the Government to Parliament on Wednesday, by the Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
Speaking to Benjamin-Offei Addo on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Wednesday (15 November), Mahama said “Iam confirming that, government is not going to introduce new taxes.”
“And am again saying that government is going to review digital compliance, there maybe removal or suspension of some taxes.”
“The Finance Minister may do and am not taking the wind out of his sail, but in doing that, we know that there maybe some vacuum created because revenue will be loss, so he will provide some alternatives….but largely government does not intend to introduce new taxes,” he added.
