The 2022 Budget Statement and Economic Policy of Government will focus mainly on reducing unemployment and expanding on the economy’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Finance has said.
A statement issued by the ministry ahead of Wednesday’s (17 November ) presentation of the budget will also also tackle, import substitution, digitization of the economy , skills development and entrepreneurship among others.
“In accordance with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution and Section 21 (3) of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016, (Act 921), the Mister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta will, on behalf of the President lay before Parliament, the 2022 Budget Statement and Economic Policy of Government on Wednesday, 17th November, 2021.”
“The budget will primarily focus on expanding on the economy’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as creating a climate-friendly entrepreneurial state to address unemployment and import substitution. Digitalization of the economy, skills development and entrepreneurship will also feature prominently in the presentation.”
