AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine, has donated a brand-new 4×4 Toyota Hilux pick-up worth GH¢ 453,500.60 to the newly created Ashanti South Police Regional Command Headquartered at Asante Bekwai to support their operations.
Mr. Eric Asubonteng, Managing Director of AngloGold Ashanti, stated that AngloGold Ashanti is poised to support the improvement of the security situation in Obuasi and its environs.
He added that the donation aligns with AngloGold Ashanti’s commitment to public institutions as outlined in the 10-year Socio-economic Development Plan (SEDP).
Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the Police, Joseph Osei-Owusu, the Member of Parliament for the Bekwai constituency who doubles as the first Deputy Speaker of the 8th Parliament of the 4th republic, was grateful to AngloGold Ashanti for the timely and significant support to equip the newly created Regional Command to fulfil its mandate.
