Databank closes Head office temporarily after a staff tested positive for Covid 19

Financial Institution Databank is from today closing its head office temporarily for a week after a staff of the firm tested positive for Covid 19.

A statement issued and signed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Company Kojo Addae-Mensah said the closure is to help protect its clients and staff.

“Databank is announcing a temporary closure of its Head Office from Monday January 25 to Friday January 29, 2021. The office will reopen on Monday February 1, 2021.” the statement said.

The statement added “The temporary closure is due to a staff member testing positive for Covid. In light of the growing number of cases in Ghana, we believe we need to take this extreme measure to protect both our staff and clients.

Databank however says clients of the financial institution can access services from its 18 other branches  across the Greater Accra Region during this period.

“If you are in Accra, you can visit our co-locations within the following GTBank branches: Airport, East Legon, Lapaz, Madina, Osu, Opera Square” the statement added.

“We also encourage you to take advantage of our digital channels to continue to transact with Databank using *6100# or any of our other digital channels, which are listed on our website (”

Databank has however apologized for any inconvenience this may cause to its numerous clients.

Covid 19 Update

At least 679 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed taking Ghana’s active cases to 3, 286, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) is reporting.

Total number of confirmed cases since March 2020 now stands at 60, 794 . 

Six more individuals have passed on increasing the death toll to 367 since the last update, reports the official GHS website.

Officially, 57, 141 recoveries have been recorded.
