The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) has organized a two-day gender mainstreaming workshop in Accra to strengthen the implementation of its Gender Policy.
The training, held on 27th–28th August 2025 at CSIR-STEPRI, brought together staff to deepen their knowledge and skills in integrating gender considerations into the authority’s work.
Opening the workshop, Acting CEO Professor Nana Ama Browne Klutse stressed the importance of moving beyond policy formulation to actual implementation. She urged staff to reflect on how gender principles could be applied in their day-to-day activities.

Other speakers, including the Acting Deputy CEO/GS and Director of ISN, Mrs. Jewel Kudjawu, encouraged participants to own the gender policy, share feedback, and make deliberate efforts to apply it.

Ms. Helina S. Dodd, the Gender Focal Person, presented an overview of the policy, while Dr. Queronica Q. Quartey led sessions on topics such as gender analysis, action planning, monitoring outcomes, and gender-sensitive communication.
Through interactive group discussions and practical sessions, participants explored ways of embedding inclusivity in EPA’s operations.

The workshop reaffirmed EPA’s commitment to ensuring gender perspectives are central to environmental protection and sustainable development.
