Mesuna Deliman Osman and Paul Adjei,
The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has entered into a strategic partnership with local logistics firm Sky Brokers to offer pre-financing support to contractors and suppliers working on GETFund-funded projects across the country.
The agreement, signed on Friday, June 13, 2025, is aimed at accelerating the pace of educational infrastructure development and eliminating bottlenecks caused by funding delays.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Sky Brokers and its Chinese partners, Jiangsu Yisong Construction Engineering Co Ltd, will provide flexible and tailored financing packages to eligible contractors and suppliers. The initiative is designed to improve efficiency, reduce project lead times, and ensure the timely delivery of key education infrastructure in line with President John Mahama’s vision for inclusive and quality education.
Administrator of GETFund, Mr. Paul Adjei, described the partnership as a timely solution to a major challenge in the sector. “Access to upfront capital remains one of the biggest hurdles in ensuring projects are delivered on time. With this MoU, we are taking bold steps to address that challenge while staying true to our mission of delivering quality school infrastructure throughout the country,” he said.
Sky Brokers’ Managing Director, Mr. Mesuna Deliman Osman, highlighted the broader impact of the agreement, noting that the partnership reflects a shared commitment to empowering local contractors and improving educational outcomes. “Our financing model will help eliminate barriers for local suppliers and contractors, making it easier for them to meet project timelines and deliver high-quality results,” he stated.
The partnership is expected to increase efficiency, accountability, and local content participation in the delivery of education infrastructure. It also strengthens private sector involvement in national development, reinforcing government efforts to provide equitable access to learning facilities for all Ghanaian children.
GETFund has reaffirmed its commitment to prudent management of resources and collaborative approaches that enhance its operational capacity and impact in the education sector.
