Gold Fields Ghana joined the global community to commemorate World Heart Day with a series of fitness and wellness activities aimed at promoting heart health and healthy living among its workforce.
At the company’s Damang Mine, employees came together for a spirited health walk and wellness education session focused on lifestyle choices that prevent heart-related diseases.
Participants were sensitized on the importance of regular exercise, healthy eating, and routine medical checkups as essential steps to maintaining good heart health.

Ahead of the main celebration, teams from Tarkwa and Damang engaged in a variety of sporting activities, including relay races and a football match, to promote physical fitness and camaraderie.

The Damang team emerged victorious in both competitions — winning the relay races and sealing a commanding 3–0 victory in football.

The event, marked by energy and enthusiasm, underscored Gold Fields Ghana’s commitment to employee well-being and its broader vision of promoting sustainable health practices across its operational areas.

The celebration was not just a fitness exercise, but a vibrant demonstration of teamwork, health consciousness, and togetherness, in line with this year’s World Heart Day message of making heart health a priority for all.
