Job Description:
NexGen is a fast-growing technical solutions and services provider for energy distribution networks in East Africa and is seeking an experienced civil engineer/Quantity Surveyor to provide engineering expertise and to ensure site scoping, quantification and supervision is done in accordance with Company policies and procedures
Job Requirements:
In-depth understanding in construction, materials, industry rates (experience as an engineer desirable)
Proficient in computer skills and MS Office
Good knowledge of problem-solving tools.
Knowledge of safety laws and regulations
Key Responsibilites:
Demonstrate thorough understanding of relevant industry standards
Site scoping for projects and maintenance works
Prepare Bills of Quantities for works
Supervision of projects
Monitor progress and compile reports for projects weekly
Managing budget and cost control for assigned projects
Scheduling materials and equipment delivery to various sites
Provide advice for problems encountered on site and solutions promptly
Comply with guidelines and regulations including local permits, permit to work, safety etc.
Any other duties assigned
Desired Expertise and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, quantity surveying, management, or related field
Civil Engineering degree/Quantity Surveying specialized construction works in oil and gas industry
Proven skills in project/site management and supervision
