Firefighters from the Hohoe Command swiftly responded to a road accident involving a petrol tanker (GT-1140-18) that had veered off the road, damaging a high-tension electricity pole and a container shop.
Led by Municipal Commander DO III Bismark Hosu Porbley, the crew first ensured the safety of the scene by isolating electrical power to the fallen lines.
They then applied foam concentrate to cool the tanker, which was carrying approximately 54,000 litres of petrol, successfully averting a potential explosion.

With the support of the Hohoe Police, the tanker was safely recovered and towed from the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though the tanker sustained minor damage to its windscreen and head compartment.

The swift actions of the Hohoe Fire Service prevented what could have been a catastrophic accident, protecting both lives and property in the area.
