In a bid to showcase its untapped mineral wealth and streamline the investment process, the Rwanda Mines, Petroleum and Gas Board (RMB) today released its inaugural Rwanda Mining Investment Pitchbook, offering would-be investors a detailed portrait of the country’s geology, regulatory environment and project pipeline.
Rolled out at a modest ceremony in Kigali, the digital publication arrives at a time when global demand for battery-grade minerals such as lithium and nickel is surging.
While Rwanda has long been known for its production of tantalum, tin and tungsten, the Pitchbook shines a spotlight on emerging opportunities in these new critical minerals—assets that could position the landlocked nation at the heart of the clean-energy transition.
A One-Stop Guide for Investors
The 60-page Pitchbook is designed as a turnkey resource. It begins with an economic snapshot—highlighting Rwanda’s annual GDP growth of over 7% in recent years and a top-tier ranking in the World Bank’s “Ease of Doing Business” index—before moving into the nuts and bolts of exploration licensing, fiscal incentives and environmental safeguards. Interactive maps trace more than fifteen advanced and early-stage projects, and case studies underscore successful partnerships between local cooperatives and international firms.
“Transparent, Predictable, Responsible”
“Investors frequently tell us they value clarity above all else,” said Dr. Albert Murasira, Director General of RMB. “This Pitchbook delivers that clarity—from permit timelines and royalty structures to community-engagement models that ensure mining benefits all Rwandans.” Mr. Murasira added that the Board’s One-Stop Investment Centre stands ready to fast-track applications, reducing bureaucratic delays that often hamper resource projects elsewhere.
