Scores of houses torched in renewed chieftaincy clashes in Tamale

Scores of houses have been burnt at  Dakpem Yili, a Suburb of Tamale  following renewed chieftaincy clashes between two factions on Wednesday.

Reports suggest the incident occurred after one of the factions resisted attempt by the other to evaluate lands under its jurisdiction.

This led to some misunderstanding leading to gunshots by one of the factions.

Meanwhile security have been deployed in the area to maintain peace and order following Wednesday’s clash.
