The Managing Director of Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), Dr. Philip Oti-Mensah, together with his lead executives, has paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, to discuss opportunities for strategic partnerships for mutual benefit.
The meeting, held at GoldBod’s head office in Accra, focused on exploring collaboration between the financial and gold trading sectors to strengthen Ghana’s mineral value chain and promote sustainable economic growth.
Discussions centered on developing innovative financial solutions to support the gold industry, improve transparency in mineral trading, and enhance access to financing for small-scale miners and local businesses involved in the value chain.
Dr. Oti-Mensah commended Gyamfi and his team for their efforts, describing GoldBod as a key national institution working to formalize and stabilize the precious minerals sector.
He said UMB was committed to partnering with strategic institutions like GoldBod to drive investment, value addition, and inclusive development across the extractive industry.
