Ghanaian forestry professor Kofi Ankamani, who was fatally shot in the United States, has been laid to rest.
Professor Ankamani was buried on Friday, October 2, 2026, following a burial Mass at St Andrew Catholic Church, 724 Mulberry Street, Murphysboro, Illinois.
His death has triggered an outpouring of condolences from friends, colleagues and members of the Ghanaian community.
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe campaign launched following his death has raised US$24,052 towards a US$30,000 target, according to the fundraising page.
He has since been laid to rest, with mourners paying tribute to the forestry professor and remembering his life and work.
