Sudden heavy rains and strong winds on Saturday forced the premature closure of the final funeral rites for former Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, at Jackson Park in Koforidua.
The funeral, which commenced around midday, had attracted a large crowd, including family members, government officials, National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives, traditional authorities, and members of the public who had gathered to honour his memory.
Dr. Omane Boamah died on August 6, 2025, following a Ghana Air Force Harbin Z-9EH helicopter crash.
All eight people on board, including other senior public officials and military personnel, perished in the accident.
