Public discussion surrounding the relationship between newly appointed Environment, Science and Technology Minister Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings and Agrihouse Foundation founder Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa has prompted renewed attention to their longstanding family connection.
The discussion intensified following Alberta’s appearance at Dr Zanetor’s swearing-in ceremony at Jubilee House, where her striking resemblance to the late former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings attracted public attention.
Contrary to suggestions that the relationship between the two women is solely professional, available family accounts indicate that Alberta is related to the Rawlings family, with Nana Konadu being her aunt and Dr Zanetor her cousin.

The clarification is significant because the relationship between Alberta and Dr Zanetor predates the latter’s appointment as Environment, Science and Technology Minister and extends beyond their professional engagements.
Dr Zanetor has, for several years, been associated with initiatives of the Agrihouse Foundation, including serving as patron of its AgSTUD initiative since 2018.
The two have also been associated with the “It Is Possible” agricultural roadshow, which promoted agricultural enterprises such as snail, rabbit and mushroom farming while providing starter packs to beneficiaries.
The renewed discussion therefore appears to have arisen largely from public assumptions surrounding their relationship, rather than from the circumstances of their professional collaboration.
