Nana Kojo Safo Jnr, CEO of Kantanka Automobile
The chief executive of local automobile firm Kantanka, Nana Kwadwo Safo Jnr, has denied allegations that he turned his back on the Ghanaian expeditioners, who travelled from Accra to London by road for a possible partnership.
A member of the team Richard Osei Anim on Monday told Asaase 99.5 Accra that they reached out to Kantanka Automobile to secure a partnership prior to their epic journey but to no avail.
‘We approached Kantanka Automobile, but they didn’t bother meeting us,” he said.
However, reacting to the development on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Tuesday (8 August), Safo Jnr said the proposal of the expeditioners never came to his notice.
They didn’t push enough
“We called an emergency meeting and as I said before, I know my team, I trust my team, if there was somebody that made a mistake, I know them, they will come out boldly,” the Kantanka CEO said.
“Probably they didn’t push enough. My personal assistants were not contacted, I have about six personal assistants and not a single one of them was contacted on this issue… If I was contacted, trust me I would be in one of the vehicles driving on the streets of London by now,” he told the show host, Benjamin Offei-Addo.
“I was only contacted just yesterday (Monday) by one of the Wanderlust Ghana team that they tried to contact me through someone who was not part of my team,” he added.
