The Artisanal Gold Council (AGC) is participating in the 2026 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C.
Now in its second day, the Council’s delegation—led by Executive Director Roger Tissot and Sahel Regional Manager Saidou Kabré—is engaging with partners, policymakers, and civil society organisations on the sidelines of the meetings.
The engagements are focused on exchanging perspectives and contributing to discussions shaping global development priorities, while also highlighting issues related to artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM).
According to the Council, the meetings provide an opportunity to share field experiences, learn from other stakeholders, and remain informed on key policy and development trends.
AGC noted that its participation is aimed at ensuring that artisanal and small-scale mining remains part of broader international development conversations.
The IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings bring together global leaders, policymakers, and development partners to discuss economic challenges, financing, and sustainable development issues.
