Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson is expected to present the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament on Wednesday, November 13, pending formal approval.
The presentation will mark the Mahama administration’s first full-year budget since returning to power and is expected to define its economic direction after months of navigating global and domestic challenges.
Unlike the transitional 2025 Budget, the 2026 fiscal plan will reflect the government’s own priorities, with a strong focus on job creation, growth, and tax reforms.
The Finance Ministry has concluded extensive consultations with industry players, civil society, and development partners to shape the policy measures.
The budget is also expected to outline strategies for Ghana’s post-IMF programme period, targeting fiscal discipline, deficit management, and sustainable growth amid rising debt obligations.
Observers say the presentation could be the Mahama administration’s most significant economic statement yet.
