
E T Mensah, Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP for Ningo-Prampram has stated that his decision to run for council of state election is not a betrayal of the opposition NDC.
Speaking in an interview with Kojo Mensah on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Monday (15 February), ET Mensah said he decision to contest the election was to give back to society.
“My motivation to go to the council of state was to give back to the people of this country what they have invested in me, you will see the number of conferences and study tours I have attended to learn,” he said
He added “And so when somebody invests in you, the person expects something back, … I must also mount the platform to make sure that I support that idea of the president.”
Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP for Ningo-Prampram E.T. Mensah was on over the weekend elected to represent Greater Accra Region on the Council of State after obtaining 100% votes .
The former minister of sports obtained all the 58 votes to win the slot, defeating his predecessor Nii Kotei Dzani.
He was declared winner by the Greater Accra Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Kwame Amoah.
