The Ghana Water Company has cut water supply to the nations sole refinery , the Tema Oil Refinery, ghextractives.com can confirm
Reports suggest the refinery is owing the Ghana Water Company an amount GHS 6 million.
The refinery is currently relying on its reservoir for water needs, ghextractives.com understands.
It is however unclear wether the stored water can last the refinery until water is finally restored to the refinery.
Water is a key component in petroleum refinery and its unavailability could pose a huge challenge to TOR’s operations.
It has also emerged that apart from water, TOR owes the Electricity Company of Ghana ECG to the tune of some 2.3 million Ghana Cedis in arrears.
