The entertainer, widely known for his portrayal of Judge Koboo in the popular television series Efiewura, reportedly died on Thursday, October 22, 2026, after collapsing during a radio programme at Owass Radio in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality of the Western Region.
He was rushed to a hospital in Tarkwa, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, according to reports citing a source in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), of which he was a member.
His death comes barely weeks after images of him looking unwell circulated on social media.
Dzokoto’s reported passing marks the loss of a familiar face in Ghana’s entertainment industry, where he built a career spanning acting, comedy, television presentation, radio broadcasting and voice-over work.

His portrayal of the character endeared him to audiences and established him as a recognisable figure in Ghanaian homes.
Beyond acting, he demonstrated his versatility as a television presenter through TV3’s food and tourism programme Edziban. The programme explored Ghanaian cuisine and local food culture, taking viewers on a journey through the country’s culinary experiences.
His work in television, alongside his comedy and advertising voice-over assignments, further strengthened his profile as an entertainer who could connect with audiences across different platforms.
Dzokoto also worked in radio, with stints at stations including Skyy Power FM in Takoradi and Hello FM in Kumasi. His broadcasting career complemented his work in television and voice-overs, making him a familiar voice as well as a recognisable face.
Politics and public service
Outside entertainment, Dzokoto ventured into partisan politics under the banner of the NDC.
He contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat in the 2016 general election but lost to the New Patriotic Party’s George Mireku Duker.
Although he did not secure the parliamentary seat, his entry into electoral politics reflected his interest in public affairs and national development.
He continued to pursue academic and professional development alongside his entertainment career. In August 2025, he graduated from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College with a master’s degree in Defence and International Politics.
Connection to the film industry
Dzokoto remained active in Ghana’s creative industry and was recently present at the media launch of The 70 Slate: A Cinematic Celebration of Ghana at 70, a three-film collaboration between filmmakers Shirley Frimpong-Manso of Sparrow Studios and Peter Sedufia of OldFilm Productions.
The project is intended to commemorate Ghana’s 70th anniversary of independence in 2027 through films exploring the country’s history, identity and future. Dzokoto was named among the cast members.
