Japanese engineering firm Toyo Engineering Corporation is exploring investment opportunities in Ghana’s natural gas processing sector, alongside potential projects in petrochemicals, fertiliser production, pharmaceuticals and industrial infrastructure.
A delegation from Toyo Engineering, led by Keiji Yoshinaga, General Manager of the company’s Middle East and Africa Sales Department, held discussions with officials of the Ghana Embassy in Tokyo on September 1, 2026, as part of efforts to identify potential business and investment opportunities in Ghana.
The delegation was received by Michael Nyaaba Assibi, Minister Plenipotentiary and Head of Chancery, together with Christopher E.K. Gaba, Minister-Counsellor for Diaspora, Education and Culture, and Isaac Yankson, Minister-Counsellor for Trade and Investment.
Toyo Engineering presented its global engineering and project development experience, including its operations across Africa, while discussions examined opportunities for collaboration in gas processing and related industrial projects.
The Ghana Embassy highlighted the country’s political stability, strategic location, skilled workforce and access to the wider African market through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The Mission also assured Toyo Engineering of its readiness to facilitate engagements with relevant Ghanaian institutions as the company assesses potential opportunities in the country.
The meeting forms part of Ghana’s efforts to attract Japanese investment into strategic sectors and deepen trade and investment relations between the two countries.
