PETROSOL Platinum Energy PLC has trained its bulk road vehicle (BRV) operators in defensive driving as part of efforts to strengthen road safety and promote the safe transportation of petroleum products.
The specialised residential training was held over two weeks at the Armed Forces Supplies and Transport Training School at Burma Camp in Accra, with drivers undergoing the programme in two batches.
PETROSOL Chief Executive Officer, Michael Bozumbil, addressed participants during the opening session of each batch, emphasising the importance of safety, discipline, professionalism and accountability in their work.
He said the company chose the military training institution because of its record of professionalism and to reinforce its commitment to protecting the lives of its employees, customers and the general public.
Mr Bozumbil said tanker drivers had a responsibility to ensure that petroleum products were transported safely on the country’s roads and delivered securely to PETROSOL service stations.
He also highlighted the role of the drivers in representing the company across the country, noting that their work supports the delivery of energy to individuals and businesses.
PETROSOL said the training formed part of its continued investment in building staff capacity to ensure that its operations were conducted safely and professionally.
