Gold Fields Ghana, through its Foundation and Community Relations teams at the Tarkwa mine, has partnered with the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) to promote safe road practices among motor riders in its host communities.
The initiative, which engaged 50 motor riders, comes amid a recent increase in road accidents and ongoing construction works along the Samahu–Pepesa road.
The training covered key safety areas such as motorcycle licensing and registration, use of helmets and protective gear, adherence to speed limits, and the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse while riding.
To extend its impact, NRSA officials also joined Gold Fields’ sponsored radio programmes on Space FM and Mining City Radio, where they educated the wider public on road safety awareness and responsible riding.
Gold Fields Ghana says the collaboration underscores its commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of residents in its host communities, particularly as infrastructure expansion continues across the Tarkwa area.
