Ken-Ofori-Atta-Minister-of-Finance
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has issued a fresh declaration naming former Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, as wanted, marking a renewed escalation in ongoing investigations involving the former official.
The OSP did not immediately release full details of the charges or circumstances leading to the declaration but indicated that the move forms part of continuing efforts to enforce accountability in high-level public office.
This marks the second time Ofori-Atta has been publicly declared wanted by the Special Prosecutor. It remains unclear whether the renewed action stems from new findings or non-compliance with earlier summons.
Sources within the OSP say the former Finance Minister is being sought in connection with alleged breaches related to financial misconduct, procurement irregularities, and abuse of office during his tenure — accusations he has previously denied.
The declaration comes amid growing public pressure for transparency and decisive action in prosecuting alleged corruption in Ghana’s public sector.
The OSP has urged anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mr. Ofori-Atta to contact its offices or the Ghana Police Service.
