Edward Nana Yaw Koranteng, Lead Advisor to the Africa Mining and Commodities Fund (AMCF), has called for Ghana’s Ewoyaa Lithium Project to progress in line with its original development plans, including the proposed development of associated by-products such as feldspar.
He said the project needed clear ownership arrangements, commercial partnerships and financing backed by a defined delivery timetable to translate Ghana’s lithium ambitions into an investable proposition.
“I’d like to see the lithium play in Ghana properly projected. I’d like to see Atlantic Lithium progress the way it should or should have, and the connecting by-products like feldspar properly developed in line with the original plan,” Mr Koranteng said.
He was speaking on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, during the AETC Podcast and Webinar Series, Bytes & Barrels, which focused on critical minerals value addition and the integration of gas and clean technology into local battery-mineral processing.
“Ambition becomes investable when ownership, commercial partners, and financing are brought together around a clear delivery timetable,” he said, adding that he hoped to see progress by the next meeting.
Ewoyaa is intended to become Ghana’s first lithium-producing mine. Atlantic Lithium’s proposed acquisition by China’s Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt remained subject to outstanding conditions, including further regulatory approvals, shareholder approval and approval by the Supreme Court of Western Australia.
