MTN Ghana CEO, Stephen Blewett,
MTN Ghana has issued a public alert urging customers to remain vigilant against scams and phishing attacks targeting mobile phone and internet users.
In a statement released on May 11, 2026, the telecommunications company warned customers against clicking suspicious links received through WhatsApp, SMS, emails, or unfamiliar websites.
According to MTN Ghana, scammers often impersonate trusted institutions, including banks, government agencies, companies, friends, or relatives, to trick victims into revealing sensitive information or claiming fake prizes.
The company advised customers to avoid responding to messages that create panic, demand urgent account verification, or promise deals that appear too good to be true.
MTN also reminded customers to use only official websites and applications and to verify suspicious messages independently.
The company stressed that it will never request customers’ passwords, PINs, or full bank card details through text messages or social media links.
Customers who suspect fraudulent activity or believe their personal information has been compromised have been encouraged to contact MTN support through 100 or report to the police via 0800311311.
