Dr Kate Addo
Dr. Kate Addo, the Chief Information Officer of the Parliament of Ghana, has earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Administration, Governance and Leadership from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
Her doctoral research examined citizen participation in parliamentary law-making, using the consideration of the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, 2021 by the 8th Parliament of Ghana as a case study.
The study explored public engagement in the legislative process, focusing on one of the country’s most widely debated pieces of proposed legislation.
Before joining Parliament’s Public Affairs Directorate, Dr. Addo built a distinguished career in journalism with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC). She later transitioned into public relations, where she steadily rose through the ranks to become the Chief Information Officer of Parliament.
Dr. Addo’s academic achievement adds to her extensive experience in public communication, governance and parliamentary affairs, reinforcing her contribution to promoting transparency and public engagement within Ghana’s democratic institutions
