Dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale has endorsed his rival Stonebwoy to contest as President of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHMRO) later this year.
Speaking in an interview Bola Ray on Starr Drive as part of his 44th birthday on Monday, Shatta wale said he believes such talents can help revive the music industry.
“All am saying is that most of us went to school but not all of us got those grades so, so I watch certain colleagues like stonebwoy like this, he can take up the position
So, you will support Stonebwoy any day if he declares he wants to be president of GHAMRO? Asked Bola
Shatta replied: For the betterment of Ghana music, I believe we have certain qualities in some artists that they themselves don’t know.
Shatta Wale believes Stonebwoy and other artistes such as Sarkodie, Ayigbe Edem, D-Black and Okyeame Kwame all have what it takes to help turn around the fortunes of GHAMRO for the betterment of musicians.
The call coming ahead of the election of new GHAMRO president later this year when the tenure of the current president Rex.
GHAMRO was established under Section 49 of the Copyright Law of 2005 and is regulated by the Ministry of Justice. The body is mandated with the collection and distribution of royalties on behalf of authors, composers and other rightsholders.
