Two die in Buipe-Tamale highway crash

At least two persons have died in an accident on the Buipe-Tamale Highway in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region.

The incident which occurred on Thursday dawn 18/02/2021 at about 12am this morning near Sarikyi-Kura to Mile 40, let to the death of one person on the spot leaving 14 with various degrees of injuries.

The Kia Grandbird with registration number GR 7287-21 with 48 passengers onboard, was coming from Garu in the Upper East Region, on reaching the section of the road the driver side front tyre got busted which the driver lost control over the car.

Police confirmed another victim died upon reaching the Holistic Hospital in Buipe.

The acting Public Relations Officer for the Savanna Region of the Ghana Police Service, inspector Adjekum Owusu confirmed the News.

Meanwhile the bodies of the deceased have been sent to the Tamale Teaching Hospital pending autopsy and identification whilst the injured have also seen treated and discharged.
