Ladership of the Ghana Chamber of Mines
The Ghana Chamber of Mines has paid its respects to the eight victims of the August 6, 2025, helicopter crash, which claimed the lives of senior government officials and security personnel on official duty.
On August 14, 2025, the Chamber’s leadership laid a wreath in their honour, describing the gesture as a solemn tribute to lives lost in service to the nation.
In a message of condolence, the Chamber expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and colleagues of the deceased, assuring them of the mining industry’s deepest sympathy and respect.

“We stand with the families, colleagues, and loved ones of the victims during this difficult time, and we honour their memory with deep respect,” the Chamber stated.
The crash, which occurred in the Ashanti Region, has plunged the country into mourning and renewed calls for improvements in military aviation safety.
The victims are Former Minister of Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology & Innovation, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohamm, Former Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Dr. Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna and Former Deputy National Chairman of the NDC, Dr. Samuel Sarpong.
Others are Former NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi East, Mr. Samuel Aboagye, Former Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala Former Flying Officer Malin Twum-Ampadu and Former Sgt. Ernest Addo Mensah.
