Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay has clapped back at critics questioning the authenticity of her curvy figure, insisting her body is all-natural and not the result of any cosmetic enhancement.
In a strongly-worded Facebook poston Thursday July 10, the RuffTown Records signee expressed frustration over persistent rumors that she may have undergone Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery. The post, which has since gone viral, saw the “Survivor” hitmaker dismiss such claims as baseless and naive.
“So y’all want to tell me before BBL Africans didn’t have a natural shape like mine? What’s with this BBL tag… Is it because I have gained at the right places?” she wrote. “Y’all should get a life and stop being naive.”
Wendy Shay emphasized that her current physique is a result of natural growth and development over the years, not surgical intervention.
“What you are seeing is 100% natural and it is not my fault y’all didn’t realize it earlier because of the bullying when I stepped in the game,” she added. “I’ve got it since!”
The award-winning singer went on to highlight the double standards women often face regarding body image. “Clearly humans will always have something to say… It’s either your booty is too big or too small or too fake.”
She concluded her post with a defiant message: “Mind your business! Africa Wake Up!”
Wendy Shay’s response has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many fans applauding her for speaking up and challenging narrow beauty standards. Others, however, remain skeptical, fueling an ongoing debate about body image, authenticity, and the pressures of fame in the entertainment industry.
