Residents in parts of the country are getting alarmed over the growing activities of illegal miners and its impact on the environment.
They are questioning government’s commitment to ending the menace; saying that despite the resources pumped into the fight against galamsey, the illegal activities keep expanding.
This is also coming barely a month after some illegal miners started mining for gold few meters away from the main Konongo-Accra highway.
