Vivo Energy Ghana PLC has donated cash support to the Ghana National Amputee Football Association as part of its 2026 Sustainability Week celebrations, reaffirming its commitment to inclusion and community empowerment.
The initiative, held under the theme “Kicking Off for Sustainability,” was funded through contributions from employees, supplemented by additional support from the company. The theme highlights the role of sports in promoting inclusion, resilience and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities.
Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana, Corporate Communications Manager Shirley Tony Kum said sustainability remains a key pillar of the company’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) agenda.
She noted that the support for the Amputee Football Association reflects Vivo Energy Ghana’s commitment to empowering communities and promoting social inclusion.
“We are proud to support the Ghana National Amputee Football Association. This donation reaffirms our belief in inclusion, community support and the power of resilience,” she said.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Association, Director of Welfare Emmanuel Apkabli expressed appreciation to Vivo Energy Ghana for the gesture.
He said the support was a significant recognition of the achievements and contributions of amputee footballers to Ghanaian sports and would strengthen efforts to promote inclusion for persons with disabilities.
“This gesture makes us proud and reminds us that we are also part and parcel of the national teams. We promise the nation that we will continue to work hard and bring glory to Ghana,” he said.
Vivo Energy Ghana said the donation aligns with its values of caring and respect and underscores its belief that sustainability extends beyond environmental stewardship to include human empowerment, social inclusion and equal opportunities for all.
