Blue Gold Limited , a U.S.-listed gold development and technology firm, says it remains committed to resolving the ongoing lease dispute surrounding the Bogoso-Prestea mining complex through constructive engagement with the Government of Ghana, even as parallel arbitration proceedings continue.
The company, which has positioned itself as a next-generation gold platform, described the Bogoso-Prestea asset as critical to its operational footprint in West Africa. In a shareholder update issued Monday 28 July, Blue Gold revealed that discussions with government stakeholders are active and ongoing, aimed at securing a resolution that safeguards both national interest and investor confidence.
“We continue to engage constructively with Ghanaian authorities while moving forward with international arbitration,” said Andrew Cavaghan, CEO of Blue Gold Limited. “The Bogoso-Prestea operation represents a foundational pillar of our strategy in Africa, and we are committed to a fair and transparent outcome.”
The dispute over Bogoso-Prestea—one of Ghana’s historically significant gold sites—has drawn attention from the global investment community, given its implications for mining agreements and regulatory consistency in the region.
In the interim, Blue Gold is advancing other strategic initiatives, including a non-binding term sheet to acquire the Mampon Copper/Gold license north of Bogoso, and the development of a blockchain-based gold token (BGT) to support future production and funding.
The company emphasized that its core focus remains on operational growth, shareholder value, and innovation, even as it navigates regulatory headwinds in Ghana.
Background
The Bogoso-Prestea lease dispute emerged after a series of regulatory and transactional complexities involving prior ownership and licensing. Blue Gold acquired interests in the project with expectations of a seamless transition, but procedural disagreements led to delays and the initiation of arbitration.
Blue Gold says it remains hopeful that continued dialogue with the Ghanaian government will lead to a negotiated solution in the interest of long-term stability and partnership.
