The Bulk Energy Storage and Transportation Limited Company Limited (BOST) has emerged as the 4th best performing state-owned enterprise in the 2nd edition of the Public Enterprises League Table (PELT) awards.
BOST was adjudged 8th best performing state-owned enterprise in the maiden edition.
The Public Enterprises League Table (PELT) is an innovation by the Minister for Public Enterprises (MPE) to assess the performances of Specified Entities (SEs) regarding compliance.
The Foods and Drugs Authority (FDA)Electricity company of Ghana emerged first followed by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority. The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation GNPC was ranked 3rd.
Sharing the news on Facebook on Thursday (12 October), BOST said the award reinforces it shared belief that its on course to achieve its objectives.
“Our Hard work continues to pay off as BOST scales the heights again. Company moved from 8TH to 4TH position on Public Enterprises League Table (PELT).”
“This reinforces our shared belief that we are on the right course to achieve our strategic corporate objectives. The league Table was announced at the 2021 PELT AWARDS held at the Accra International Conference Centre last night,” it said.
About PELT
The Ministry for Public Enterprises, in collaboration with Ministry of Finance and the State Interest and Governance Authority (SIGA) on Friday 29th April, 2022, launched the Public Enterprises League Table (PELT) to encourage the public to see the assessment of Specified Entities (SEs) based on a league table it is developing.
The Public Enterprises League Table (PELT) is an innovation by the Minister for Public Enterprises (MPE) to assess the performances of Specified Entities (SEs) regarding compliance.
The PELT is mainly to create competition among the specified entities which includes the State Owned Enterprises (SoEs), Joint Venture Companies (JVCs) and Other State Entities (OSEs) as stipulated in the SIGA Law, ACT 990.
Other objectives of the PELT are to promote innovation in the management of the SEs to ensure organizations are not only profitable but also efficient, provide non-pecuniary incentives for improved performance, boost the stature of performing organizations,
It also seeks to recognize/Award Chief Executive Officers (CEOs)/Managing Directors (MDs)/Director Generals and Boards of performing SEs as well as to provide a pathway for recommending the promotion of performing CEOs/MDs/DGs to be elevated to occupy similar positions in more prominent SEs.
