A technical issue aboard the Jubilee FPSO (Kwame Nkrumah) vessel has caused a temporary disruption in gas export to the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant (GPP), according to a joint statement issued by the Ministry of Energy, GNPC, and Ghana Gas.
The incident occurred on May 10, 2025, at approximately 4:30 PM, when the gas system on the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel experienced a system trip that affected supply to the Atuabo GPP.
The statement confirmed that technical teams are actively working with the FPSO operator to identify the root cause of the problem and implement corrective measures. The goal is to restore gas supply to Atuabo as quickly and safely as possible.
Despite the disruption in gas exports, the authorities assured the public that the oil production system on the FPSO remains fully operational and unaffected by the incident.
“We would like to assure the public that the oil production system on the FPSO remains unaffected and continues to operate steadily,” the release emphasized.
The Ministry also expressed gratitude to stakeholders for their patience and understanding as efforts continue to resolve the issue.
