The Governing Board of Directors of the Ghana National Gas Company, led by Chairman Kofi Totobi Quakyi, has inspected ongoing maintenance works at the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant in the Western Region.
The plant, which was shut down on Saturday, August 16, 2025, is undergoing major maintenance for the first time in its 11 years of operation.
The exercise, scheduled to last 14 days, entered its ninth day on Sunday, August 24, when the board visited the site.

Totobi Quakyi expressed satisfaction with the progress of work so far and commended the technical team for their professionalism and commitment.
He expressed confidence that the plant would resume operations as planned.

“The Atuabo Gas Processing Plant is a vital state asset, and it is encouraging to see the high level of dedication from the technical team. We are optimistic that operations will resume on schedule,” he said.
The chairman further urged staff to continue safeguarding the facility, which plays a critical role in Ghana’s energy security and industrial development.
