Accra will play host to a high-level gathering of global and local mining stakeholders as the 2025 edition of the Mining & Minerals Convention takes place from August 26 to 27 at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City.
Touted as Ghana’s premier mining event, the convention brings together key actors across the gold and mineral value chain—including miners, refiners, exporters, investors, policymakers, and sustainability partners—to chart a bold future for the country’s mining industry.
With the theme “Shaping the Future of Ghana’s Gold Industry,” the convention is expected to drive critical conversations on responsible mining, value addition, digital transformation, and the kind of long-term partnerships needed to sustain Ghana’s position as Africa’s gold powerhouse.
This year’s gathering comes at a time when the global demand for ethically sourced minerals is rising, and Ghana is positioning itself to take full advantage of that shift—not just as a top producer, but also as a hub for innovation, environmental stewardship, and inclusive growth in the mining sector.
Among the notable speakers expected at the event are Hon. Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff of the Republic of Ghana; Hon. Armah Kofi Buah, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources; Martin Kwaku Ayisi, CEO of the Minerals Commission; and Hon. Sammy Gyamfi, CEO of the Ghana Gold Board.
Over the two-day period, delegates will engage in technical sessions, exhibitions, policy roundtables, and curated networking opportunities. The event will also feature a robust showcase of mining technologies, renewable energy solutions, ESG tools, digital innovations, and small-scale mining breakthroughs.
Organizers say the Mining & Minerals Convention 2025 is more than just a conference—it is a platform for leadership, accountability, and transformation in a sector central to Ghana’s economy. With over 1,000 expected participants, the event will provide the kind of ecosystem engagement needed to unlock new investments, build strategic alliances, and accelerate the shift toward a smarter, more sustainable minerals economy.
The convention will also serve as a key moment for the government and industry to reaffirm Ghana’s global leadership in gold production while building consensus around reforms that ensure long-term community benefits and environmental responsibility.
