Francois Hardy
Gold Fields has appointed mining executive Francois Hardy as its new Chief Technical Officer, effective August 1, 2026.
Hardy brings more than three decades of experience in the mining industry, covering operations, technical services, project management and global functional leadership.
According to Gold Fields, Hardy has worked across several key mining jurisdictions, including South Africa, Australia, Ghana and the United States, building extensive expertise in operational leadership, business excellence and technical delivery.
The company said his appointment is expected to strengthen its efforts to advance safe, sustainable and high-performing mining operations globally.
Gold Fields expressed confidence that Hardy’s experience and leadership will contribute significantly to the company’s technical and operational strategy.
The appointment forms part of Gold Fields’ ongoing efforts to enhance operational performance and strengthen leadership across its global mining portfolio.
