Golden Star Resources has recorded notable achievements at the 11th Ghana Mining Industry Awards (GMIA), as two of its representatives earned national recognition for their contributions to the mining sector.
Boatemaa Hammond was named 2nd Runner-Up for Female Mining Professional of the Year (Non-Technical), acknowledging her professional excellence and dedication at the company’s Wassa operations.

Golden Star’s First Aid and Safety Team also emerged champions of the Inter-Mines First Aid and Safety Competition, reinforcing the mine’s reputation for strong safety culture and operational discipline.
Golden Star Resources described the honours as a reflection of the hardworking teams who continue to uphold the company’s values and commitment to high performance.

This year’s Ghana Mining Industry Awards, held under the theme “Celebrating Excellence in Mining: Creating Value Beyond Minerals,” recognised outstanding achievements across safety, innovation, technology, gender inclusion, community development and responsible mining.
