The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah, has paid an official visit to the Minerals Development Fund (MDF), underscoring government’s commitment to strengthening institutions that support sustainable development in mining communities.
The visit, hosted by the Administrator of the MDF, Dr Hanna Louisa Bisiw, brought together management and staff of the Fund for discussions focused on performance, accountability, and impact.
Dr Bisiw described the Minister’s interaction with the team as both “inspiring and timely,” noting that his message strongly emphasised the need for measurable results in the Fund’s operations.

The Minister stressed that the work of the MDF remains critical to improving livelihoods in mining communities and called for renewed urgency in delivering tangible outcomes.
The MDF Administrator indicated that the visit has reinvigorated the team’s commitment to its mandate, adding that the Fund will continue to prioritise initiatives that deepen its impact, promote responsible mining practices, and generate visible development benefits for host communities.

The Minerals Development Fund plays a key role in managing and disbursing resources from mining revenues to support community development projects across Ghana.
