She also shared progress on MTN’s ‘Doing for Planet’ sustainability goals and introduced the MTN Skills Academy, a digital skills training platform aimed at empowering Ghanaian youth.

Mr. Samuel Duku, Network Field Services Manager for the Eastern and Volta Regions, emphasized the scale of MTN’s infrastructure rollout. “MTN has deployed over 5,000 sites nationwide, with 87.5% of our data traffic now supported by advanced 4G technology to deliver a superior and reliable user experience,” he said. He further noted that MTN plans to relocate approximately 130km of fibre infrastructure this year to improve network resilience and unlock greater capacity for emerging digital services. He added that new sites are currently being developed to extend coverage to five previously unserved communities, with work already underway.

Faisal Ali, Manager for MobileMoney Channel Development, spoke on the financial technology strides made by MTN and MobileMoney Ltd. He noted that MTN’s digital and financial services have empowered individuals and SMEs by enabling transactions beyond geographic limits and improving access to financing.
The forum attracted representatives from key regulatory and law enforcement institutions. The Eastern Regional representative of the National Communications Authority (NCA) commended MTN for its stakeholder engagement efforts.

Eastern Regional Police Deputy Commander, ACP Richard Appiah, pledged continued collaboration in educating mobile money agents on safety measures. Hon. Adongo, the Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben North, also assured MTN of the Assembly’s support in combating persistent cable theft incidents, which often disrupt service delivery.
The MTN Media and Stakeholder Forum is held annually to update the public and key partners on the company’s progress and plans to ensure customers benefit from seamless digital experiences and improved service delivery.
