The Forest Services Division (FSD) of the Forestry Commission (FC) held a two-day Management Retreat in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region from 29 to 30 January 2026 to review its performance in 2025 and outline its strategic agenda for 2026.
The high-level retreat brought together all Regional and District Managers nationwide and provided an opportunity to assess achievements, identify challenges, make projections and set objectives, policies and targets for the year ahead.
The meeting served as a focused platform for senior officials to step away from routine operations and engage in long-term strategic decision-making aimed at improving performance and delivering on the Division’s mandate.
In his remarks, the Chief Executive of the Forestry Commission, Dr. Hugh Brown, congratulated management on the Division’s achievements over the past year and expressed confidence in improved productivity in 2026 despite limited resources. He stressed the importance of strong legal backing to enhance the protection of Ghana’s Forest Estate.
