Ghana Water Ltd (GWL) has announced the successful completion of repair works on its 42-inch transmission main, paving the way for the gradual restoration of water supply to affected communities in the Greater Accra Region.
According to the company, the repairs were completed at 8:00 p.m. GMT on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Following the completion, production and pumping of water to the Tema Booster Station commenced at 9:00 p.m. the same day.
GWL said water supply to Tema, New Town, Kpone and adjoining communities began from 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
The company assured customers that water supply across all affected areas will continue to stabilise progressively as pumping and distribution normalize.
Management of Ghana Water Ltd expressed appreciation to customers and the general public for their patience and cooperation during the repair period, while apologising for the inconvenience caused.
