President Akufo-Addo has nominated Kofi Mocumbi Tagoe to be appointed as the managing director of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR).
He replaces Jerry Kofi Hinson who resigned in August 2023.
In a letter dated 18 March 2024 and addressed to Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Minister of Energy, the president instructed Dr Prempeh to take steps to regularise Mahama’s appointment, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Companies Act 2019 (Act 992).
The letter was signed by the Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante also nominated Leon Kendon Appenteng as the chairman of the reconstituted board of TOR.
Ten others have also been appointed to form the reconstituted board of TOR.
“In view of the reconstitution of the board of the Tema Oil Refinery Company Limited (the Company), the President has nominated the following Leon Kendon Appenteng; Kofi Macumbi Tagoe; Dr Antoinette Tsiboe-Darko; Edith Sapara-Grant; Nana Akua Bakoma Prempeh; Lorraine Crabbe Ababio; Joseph Mensah Browne Alfred George Thompson; Paul Kwaku Kyei Ofori; Kwame Baffoe and Herbert Ato Morrison.”
“The President has also nominated Leon Kenson Appenteng as the chairman of the board and Kofi Mocumbi Tagoe as the managing director of the company,” the letter said.
