The app deployed to register SIM cards in Ghana is currently experiencing technical challenge, leaving many stranded as some centres in the country.
The development comes barely a day to the end of the nationwide registration exercise which is expected to end tomorrow(31 July).
The SIM registration exercise which was supposed to end in March 31 was extended to July 31 to afford more Ghanaians the opportunity to register.
Many Ghanaians are yet to register their SIM cards due to their inability to secure Ghana Card for the registration.
Editor of Techgh24 Samuel Dowuona believes the development should be one of the compelling reasons for extending the exercise.
“On a crucial day like this, the SIM registration app created by KelniGVG for NCA is down, so many customers are stranded at the various registration centers,” Dowuona posted on Facebook.
“It has been down since yesterday but NCA, MoCD and the telcos have remained quiet about it.”
“This is one more compelling reason for an extension, which is supposed to be announced today, but for reasons best know to them, the Ministry has still not issued a statement on the extension,” he added.
